Are we stupid to pay £5m (as reported) for him?

Was is it £3m we got him for first time round? Sold for £2.5m was it? then buy back for £5m.

I realise how important he is to us, but that seems a little stupid.

I guess it's not different to us selling Big Dunc to Newcastle for £8m, then buying him back for £4m.

Swings and roundabouts.

In answer to your questions

1) No, he is boss
2) Yes, but he is boss.
That is all.

He had 3 months left on his contract when we sold him.

He now has 3 years left on his Spurs contract.

He should really be costing more than we paid for him.

If he had 3 years left for us, we would be wanting stupid money for him.

Seeing as his game isn't based on speed then him being 30 isn't an issue at all.

He is clever, works perfectly with Baines and just fits with Everton. I see no reason why he cannot play at this level for another three or four years, and it's obvious Moyes feels the same.

5m seems about right. Looking back, we'd probably have been better just giving him that pay rise when he wanted it.

Made up he'll be ours for good now though. Yay.

Hopefully peanuts will come back, If you caught him gettting emotional in that interview towards the end of the season you'll realise he's at home with us. Diffrent team with him in the squad!!

really hope stevie p is a toffee by next week duncan is and will always be my fav toffee but stevie p is a close second must be something to do with players coming bk to their real home and love stevie p is a toffee 110%

especially when he ****ed us off for tottenham by letting his contract run down and getting pittance for him

Hi

reckon this post might cause a few divides but....

Rumour has it the pienaar deal is almost complete for a fee off around 5mill.

Now as much i love peanuts is this the right move for Everton?

It grieves me to see us sell him for 3mill then have to pay 2 mill more 1 yr later, did spurs improve him as a player? Did he become younger in that year? No to both infact he hardly kicked the ball for spurs.

I just think that that may have been a few better and younger options for that fee especially for a club like us with no money this is a big transfer and i would presume that it will take most if not all of moyes budget.

I will welcome him with open arms because you know what you get with him, plus he wont need time to get used to his surroundings etc. But i would of like to off seen more options for that 5mill

Opinions?

We are a completely different team with him. For evidence please refer to the second half of last season. He knows us, he fits, he wants to be here. No brainer.

My only worry is he goes a bit crap like he did last time, because nobody was pushing him for his place and the fire was gone.
