I was in the situation 7 years ago and chose Everton. However, Fulham were tempting. Family club, traditional ground. No glory hunters in sight.

I was close to choosing Newcastle or Leeds before I was chosen by Everton.

Newcastle came under consideration for me too. It was either gonna be Everton, Newcastle, or Fulham. But in the end I didn't really "choose". It just became glaringly obvious to me where my heart was after watching a few games. God help me.

I think it would be interesting to pose this question to American fans who jumped on the Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea bandwagons before watching very many games. I have a hunch a fair amount of them would pick Everton. My friends who like big four clubs all seem to have a soft spot for Everton.

Except for the RS, and probably Man City lately, it seems fans of all of the other clubs have a soft spot for us.

I was somewhat in this scenario growing up. In the states when I was young and playing soccer we didn't really have much soccer to watch. I would stay glued to the tv for the weekly premeir league highlights on a local cable channel here. Also caught some Serie A on a local Italian channel on Sunday mornings. Players that inspired me while growing up were Ryan Giggs, and Paolo Maldini. I was a fulback that liked to attack. While none of these players were ever Everton players I found myself drawn to the club for some reason. So the answer to your question is Everton. Though I like some other clubs, it will always be Everton for me.

Is this your way of telling us your a red mate? if so, its okay honest. You're in good company with a few lads here.

I know this was posted in jest but I have tried to view this dispassionately and find myself genuinely having difficulty even imagining it. If I was going full-on glory hunting I think I would go for one of the Manchester clubs.
