Has anyone noticed we haven't conceded since he got injured thats 4 whole games. I'm not saying I don't like him because I do he's done a great job. Coincidence or what?:confused3:

I think it's coinicidence mate, i think Pip is a very important player for us. I think his leadership and professional approach are invaluable and that makes him better than your average run of the mill midfielder.

He had his best season in a blue shirt last year, his passing has improved a hell of a lot and he loves Everton, he has said so himself. Were lucky to have him, would like him to stay with the club in some role after he retires.

Jack the lad didn't have his best game against Pompey, with Neville there he had the ability to roam a bit more. The same with Arteta last season when he was fit, Neville was perfect foil to let him go a play his creative game, while Pip sat back and was the protection

He thinks you're on a wind-up mate, it's not the normal kind of response you get here.

No I'm not on a wind-up, for some reason I just think we have been playing better with the exception of Portsmouth but that was expected. I think having Rodwell in that holding role has been really effective, allowing peanuts and ossie to make runs down the wing because he can spread the play well.
Just my opinion kenada_blue sorry if I offended you mate.

I wouldn't question Neville's importance to the team, but I'm not sure that it's entirely coincidental. Remember last season when the Yak and then Arteta got injured ? Both of these seemed like crippling blows at the time, but the team responded with a great run of form. I think Moyes has instilled something there - a team spirit, a willingness to pull for one another and to dig deep in the face of adversity - which has given us this resilience.

I hope we're not speaking too soon though - the opposition in the last 4 games hasn't been of the best, and there will be sterner tests to come.

Fair play. But you've got to put things into perspective....

We've played [Poor language removed] teams. We've scraped wins against average sides (Wigan) and barely got something against the worst team in the league.

Saying the reason we've got clean sheets because Neville isnt playing is just a false dawn. Its the calibre of the opposition rather than us being good.

We play anyone that's any good (watch the Stoke game be a nightmare) and we'll see why Neville being abscent will effect us then.

Playing any of the top 4, Citeh or Spurs without him is going to be VERY tough. Its tough with him so without him.....I dont want to think about it.

Just a coincidence mate. We tend to be the sort of team (at least in recent times) that pulls together that little bit more when we lose an influential player to injury. That was the case last season and it seems to be again this term.

Why do we have to wait til then though? Why not from the off?
Anyway get well soon Phil and the rest of the lads.

You have no reason to apologise, you're as entitled to an opinion as anyone else. This is a forum that prides itself on making people feel welcome, you get abuse for sod all on other forums, not here as you'll find out if you stick around.
