Having watched the city game, and seeing moyes yet again play an ultra defensive selection despite having attaacking options on the bench who have played well when called upon(drenthe and vellios). Granted phil did score a cracker mid week in the carling cup, but to play three right backs in the team was uncalled for really just because phil is the club captain cant bring him into the first team at first chance replacing bily who had a poor game against wigan but why take off a midfielder/winger and bring in a right back, drenthe should of started. Phil played very poor, passing not great, speed none, its all well and good screaming away but play him at right back out of harms way rather than in the defensive midfield position. There are numerous players who could of done a better job there! heitinga, fellaini( cant be asked to play as a midfielder and striker at the same time) or rodwell( who really impressed keeping silva quiet until the little con artist got him a yellow and then jack had to watch himself) I really hope for moyes sake we start playing players in the positions and not just to fit everyone who is at the club the longest into the team(cahill as a striker, ossie as a left winger and coleman)! the right back position is coleman, the young lad has pace to burn but needs a right winger to help, hibbert has done a good job as of late but coleman is the future!
Moyes hopefully reverts to jags as the captain as phils getting old and might do a job for last 15 minutes to close out a game possible, thats if everton go on the attack early for once!
Rant over abit all over the place, my bad!

Welcome and good first post.

The day is coming where Phil will be eased into less of a playing role and more of a coaching/mentoring role. How soon is anyone's guess but with Hibbert playing more, perhaps we're seeing the start of it.

Welcome to GOT.

Honestly can not stand Neville and still fume that we gave him a new contract

Average RB at best

Poor passer,no pace, afwul crosser of the ball

please no................... and anyway do we need another defensive coach

Nev was bloody awful today.

Every time I see him try one of those smart arse clipped passes and crosses a part of me wants to physically hurt him.

Nearly gave away two goals today and was comfortably the worst player on the pitch.

And we've gave him a bloody two year contract.

Phil has never been the best player in the world, but he has been a fantastic signing for us and always gives his all, however it has to end sometime. he is a fantastic captain and will always be our club captain but i think he will have fewer and fewer games over the next 2 years. I went to the West Brom match on wed night and bar his goal i thought he was very poor, again today against city he was not great. he has never been the fastest player but on wed night it looked like he was running through treacle - his legs look like they have gone and i think he realises this. he will always be great to have around the club as players with his experiences are hard to come by - plus, any one who calls gary neville a knob cant be that bad can they ;-) I cant post links yet so to see it go to youtube and search for phil neville calls gary a knob!!! quality!!!

Phil Neville has been a very good professional over the years, but he is 35 in January and is very close to the end of his career and today may have been the end of it in midfield.
