Really has become a consumate central defender. Listening to SAF after we lost to them he praised Jags for constantly dealing with everything that came his way. Shrek, Ronaldo, Giggs all of them found lacking against Jagielka.

Now he is having a blinder against Notlob. Just executed a superb sliding tackle to break up a rare Bolton attack.

I reckon CD is no longer the priority to re-enforce (still need a good back-up though) with Jags filling in for the ANC.

You know what?? We are ace. We are solid at the back (stopped leaking those ridiculous goals we were letting in early on in the season) and we are attacking with poise.

I love this team. I love David Moyes. I never lost the faith, even after crashing out of Europe and that start to the season and TW was calling for his head on a platter. David Moyes showed those negative bastards.

We will stuff them. Those Gooners, don't like the cold north of England. In fact, they are crap when playing outside London. FACT.

Not bad at all, not bad at all he is certainly going to be a good replacement while Yobo away, and Stubbs as a back-up during that period is not so good, but right replacement comes up for Stubbs in January then we should get one then!

We need another midfielder first!

i'm delighted jags has come good. yobo, lescott, jags and stubbs. we are covered there. baines and valente for the left and neville and hibbert on the right. defence looks tight.

i think moyes will go for midfield in the window.

True, we need midfielder but I still feel we need another RB I don't trust Hibbert completely he is alright but can't depend on him, good thing is Neville don't get injure often!

From Soccernet:

"Their resilience was apparent at the back where Moyes praised the central pairing of Phil Jagielka and Joseph Yobo. 'They played exceptionally well today and Joleon Lescott, who we know is a terrific centre half, had to play at left back.' He also made an outstanding goal-line clearance to deny Rooney, when he chipped Tim Howard. Ferguson, meanwhile, was impressed by one of the centre-backs. 'The boy Jagielka, he must have got the last touch five or six times on really difficult crosses,' he said."

yeah... if today proved anything it is that neville is better than hibbert at right back.

aside from the goal his crossing and support play was excellent.

I am very please with our current defence line up as well, but to me Hibbert is still not all-rounded enough to complete the task!

With Howard in goal we have finally find our new long-term keeper, and Lescott has a habit of being where it should be when it comes to goal line clearance which is a great things to have, I believe over last dozen of games in Premier League match we have the best defensive record, we certainly have the right quality and age group of defender here!

Watched the game today and he had a blinder. He had Anelka in his back pocket all game. Easily MOTM for me.

He is without a doubt one of my choice for MOTM, I think his days with Sheffield Unite has serve him well, being a weaker team in Premier League last season he has to defend more often again top midfielder and striker and he has learn how to do it rightly!

Well, as well as that we have great defender in the squad for him to learn from, the lads has good potential to be a great CB!

He's certainly getting better and better. I'll admit that I had no idea he could play at centre back but it certainly solves a problem by having someone who can play there with such aplomb.

I finally watched the game on TV (it was on tape delay) and Jags WAS IMMENSE!!!!

Here's to him putting in repeats.
