2 or 3 years ago, jagielka was one of our star performers every game. One game in particular stands out in the FA cup at home against the ****e where he kept the once great torres in his back pocket the whole game. Unfortunatley the 29year old has not returned to that form since his ligament injury and time is running out. He's now behind terry ferdinand and cahill in the england pecking order and personally in the transfer window id have shipped him out to arsenal for 15mil and got scott dann for 5mil. What great business that would have been?

The bad form seems to have coincided with the Jagielka to Arsenal rumours.

I get the feeling that he's going to be back to his best now that he can put all that ****e behind him and get on with it.

I think we should have sold Jags,Cahill,Arteta and Felliani who is on the last year of his contract whilst we can get top dollar for them and replaced them with Huth,Jenas and Crouch

I'm with you on this Zero.
Pabbers,if we sold our best players at peak form we truly would be a selling club imo. :)

Seriously i can understand the rock that is Huth but Jenas?? The most overrated midfielder there has ever been. he's terriblely average. As for Crouch no thanks doesn't do enough. Seemed to have a great spell for England a year or so ago but incosistant at spurs hence why they ousted him. Well that and arry is not the best at decision making he blames all 10 of his strikers for lack of goals

We could buy Crouch,Huth and Jenas who would walk into our midfield lad FACT

Might have had enough left over to make a checky bid for SWP

I dont think he's that good to be honest, awful technique, doesnt have a clue were the ball is goin when he heads the ball, and is generally a bit of an oaf. Out of all our 'star' players, he's the one I would of sold if we indeed had to sell one this summer.

We are desperate for someone comfortable on the ball at the back, he's keeping his place at the minute on the back of being one of Moyes favourites, I guarentee if Jonny was performing that badly at CH he would be dropped, in fact when he was performing superbly at CH in his debut season he was dropped from the position as soon as Jagielka was fit.

We missed the boat with getting a big fee for him, as we have with Cahill, and proved with Arteta.

Is it not a joke that during the transfer window, all we here is "don't sell our best players", "we're not a selling club" etc etc, then when a player has a bad game or 2 or passes their peak all we hear is, "we should of sold them last window", or "we should have took that 20mil off United 2 years ago"....

Unfortunately we can't have the best of both worlds, we either keep hold of our best players, try and win trophies with them and accept they aren't going to be our best player forever and when it comes to selling them on we might not get what they were worth in their hay-day.....

Or we become a selling club buying bargains / nurturing talent and shipping them on in their prime and making big bucks....

Question is, which would you prefer?? Personally I'd prefer the former.

So you were serious. First off Huth is a defender. Secondly Jenas walk into our midfield seriously you rate him that highly? He has been crap where ever he played such that he has fallen off the grid he can't even get into the England team not even on the bench. Such is his career champions league chasing spurs have offloaded him to Villa even after Redknapp claimed the day before his midfield was down to bare bones as he always says.
