not sure why cahill's in there. ivanovic has had a brilliant season and scored a lot of important goals too. wouldn't have gerrard in there, i thought he was dire in the first half of the season, he's still only scored that header vs us as his only goal from "open" play as well??

Yeah or maybe Gerrard, but really in his own right the way he's played has been head and shoulders above any other defender never mind right midfield player. He's been awesome at times and deserves a bit more recognition in my mind.

Shaw has been decent but both Baines and Aspilicueta have been better, stupid really.

Baines hasn't been as good as previous seasons but is still the best LB in league.
Coleman is outstanding and this is the first of many accolades.

If it was based on Opta stats the team would be:

Cech came second to Howard.
If you count Ivanovic as a rightback then Mertesacker was the next highest-scoring centreback.
Cahill was the seventh defender and Shaw came fourteenth.
Mirallas is the next highest-scoring midfielder.
Lukaku was sixth in the strikers.
