Ha Ha Ha.

He was only ever in to make a quick buck but ultimately failed when he had to accept the price he bought the club for. The PL was still a new concept and it was fashionable back then for business people to buy PL clubs because generally they were on to a winner.

It is worth remembering that this is the man whose refusal to give HK Mk3 adequate funds because he wanted someone else nearly got us relegated in the 97/98 season. The man who later sold Ferguson behind Smith's back because he was calling in the debt. The man who cost us the best years of Nigel Martyn because he would not afford him a proper welcoming to the club. The man who refused to give Joe Royle the small amount of money needed to buy Flo who Chelsea later paid £10m for, and who caused Joe to leave. Things could have been so different.

We are still paying for the mistakes of his tenure.

No further questions Your Honour. Guilty as charged.

he did give nigel martyn excellent directions to leeds, this was pre sat nav days as well remember

Does he remember much about his first football match - apparently an Everton game which my grandfather Miller took him to (probably in the 50s).

Saw him get quietly and secretly taken in to Goodison in a tatty old blue Transit van from City Road after he sold Duncan.

Close to the end for him, obviously he was worried about being seen so that would say to me he knew what our reaction would be.

I personally think comparing Johnson and Kenwright is a bit like comparing a kick in the knackers with a kick in the teeth. Neither are very good, but at least Johnson invested some cash into the business, albeit in the form of loans which he demanded back when his flavoured chips business went west.

Having to sell off the bigger name players, like Ferguson, Dacourt etc obviously had an adverse affect on our performances. But how does that compare to us going almost three years without signing a first team player under Kenwright, which had followed a very similar fire-sale in which we flogged the likes of Arteta, Yakubu and Beckford etc? This happened under Kenwright without him investing any money into the business. The difference was that we had David Moyes in charge, otherwise things would have been just as bad as the 1990's.

All that bollox with Z-cars and dodgy kits that weren't even royal blue was just typical 90's marketing bollox. You will find that many a club throughout the country were implementing similar 'wacky' initiatives, in an attempt to evolve into the new, wacky sky boy era, along with their dancing cheerleaders and half-time sumo-wrestling contests. The 90's was full of that type of crap everywhere you went!

Johnson massively overhauled our retail facilities whilst he was at Everton. Does anyone remember the old souvenir shop on Goodison Road before Johnson came? Christ, you see market stalls in town with more Everton merchandise than you did in that place back then. He improved the Goodison Road shop, before going ahead and building our 'megastore'.

No. As mentioned above.

Red season ticket covers, the unveiling of a home shirt that isn't Royal blue, taking the piss with zcars, humiliating an Everton legend in Kendall. Etc.....

That's pissing on our history and tradition
No. The Kirkby shed get rich quick scheme was the king of watersports. Kenwright may as well rained down his urine onto the fans heads.

The last straw for me was when Royle (I think) left as manager and the post was advertised in the Daily Mail! I was moved to write a letter of protest to the great man which, to be fair to him, he responded to. I've still got it somewhere.

I think he genuinely wanted to succeed at Everton. He just wasn't up to it. We were rather a different animal to Tranmere Rovers.......

Ha ha, remember that footage of some lid jumping on his car just outside Goodison? Our crowd were seriously angry with him, it was a bit mental looking back.
