Player Valuation: £750k
when our players are fit again,we will have almost the EXACT SAME SQUAD as last season, yet people seem to think we'll finish nowhere near the top 7.

last season we were close to the top 4,we got to the semi-finals in a domestic cup competition for the first time in 13 years and we were a whisker away from reaching the uefa cup semi finals (which would have been against rangers).

if anything our squad will be stronger - cahill back, arteta back, vaughan back, etc. if you think this is our darkest ever pre-season,you clearly havent been a fan for long, or have amnesia - the 90s were a lot LOT worse.

now,i will be the first to say we need new signings (hopefully moyes and kenwright will get the idea today, not too savagely though) and we still have the rest of august to do that. but to say that we'll be awful this year is an over-exaggeration,no doubt.

Almost the same? We lost our defensive mid and second striker plus a few reserve players who managed to get quite a few matches between them.

So where's Fernandes and Carsley?

The fact is we have lost a few senior players, who haven't been replaced as yet - and people are worried that there's too much pressure being placed on the youngsters ( Rodwell, Gosling etc ).

it's cool. we will fly under the radar.

it's always better to be written off rather that hyped up (spurs!).

every pundit can't see us finishing in the top six. that suits me fine.

only problem is, what happens if Rodwell or baxter gets injured.

who's going to play then?

anyone good in the under 15's?

Yes, our first lineup is almost the same, with the exception of Carsley.. so WHEN all of them are fit and WHEN all of them are free of suspension, THEN our first 11 will be very strong. But as soon as one is injured or unavailable... the team on the field will be weakened.. and since we use 1-3 subs in each game.. our team will be weakened as soon as we sub out one of our senior players.

It's not our first 11 that makes me fear a lower league position this season.. it's our second string players that, in my eyes, will be our achilles heel.
