Excuse the possibly scandalous and misleading thread title, there is a tenuous link.
I've just got back from the Macca gig and it was amazing, head and shoulders the best concert I've ever been too and one of the best experiences of my life.
The North Korea connection? Oh yes. Well you know you saw Korean citizens weeping in the streets for someone of deity status? I didn't expect to be emotional but I was overcome seeing McCartney live singing the songs I've heard all my life. I kept it together pretty well except for weeping uncontrollably during Blackbird; A tribute for John Lennon, tribute for George Harrison; hey jude; while my guitar gently weeps; abbey road medley and the queue for the bar.
During Live and let die he let off fireworks and I became overstimulated and my sister had to calm me down like a child after too much sugar. Anyway, it was great.

I remember watching a concert of his on the tv. It was in the US , somewhere. When he sang Beatles songs the camera panned to middle aged people crying in the audience. Obviously harking back to the 60's when they first heard the tunes. Nostalgia can bring emotions out in people

I'm not some nostalgic beatnik, I'm just an average young buck, sensitive yet tough James Dean sort of character.

Sounds awesome!!! :D

ever so slightly jealous Drebin. However the mrs has these cringe worthy* friends who annoy the tits off me, who went tonight and are paying a visit this week. I dread the spewing of superlatives from them.

*right pair of [Poor language removed], feckin make my skin crawl

They mentioned on " North West Tonight" something about a "surprise" . Was it those tribute songs ?

Oh I don't know, I went for a meal first so it may have been something earlier.

My biggest surprise was queuing for 35mins only to get to the front and be told they didn't accept cards. Fuming beyond belief.
