PAT VAN DEN HAUWE book review: Psycho Pat
If there was a need for agents and lawyers then Pat would have gained financially had he had the use of them in his playing days, especially his marriage to Mandy Smith
"LET HE WHO WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE"
Pat Van Den Hauwe if he has written the book, then it is a very creditable achievement. The usual covered up and pretense that is often written and spoken to the media is void of this in the book. Pat has paid the price for his straight talking.
The temptation and the adulation of good looking women requires a very discipline man who is in a solid marriage and loving relationship to walk away. Look at the high divorce rate of footballers after they retire from football.
On the football field Pat studied and worked on his skills, he even practiced to improve kicking with his left foot when he was naturally a right side kicker of the ball. He should have played for England when asked and who knows Maradona may never have made that long dribbling run on the right wing to score the winner against England in Mexico 1986 world cup if Pat had being marking the little man.

The grammar is not important ( Shakespeare could not spell and invented the words we use today, Assassinated being one of them) it is the substance that is written, so let's respect a man who admits his faults and is now trying to change for the better. For me it was a great read . The title 'Psycho Pat' is demeaning to a professional football who played for the team.

Sharpy an' Kopites met him last season . He was a Leg' an' was " Surprised " at the Mad Arse Blue reaction to him .

Thus ; He'll do for me .

PLUS , Mandy Smith ... Score 1 for Psycho .....

I met him once and didnt know it was him until my mate pointed it out. I was then too embarrassed to ask for his autograph.

Really nice guy he was too.

I remember Pat being taken out by Forests pacey right winger Franz Carr in the mid eighties. After lengthy treatment he got up and scanned the pitch with his steely glare, only to see that Carr was now just in front of the left back. Carr was substituted very soon after. What a reputation and a highly underated player who worked very hard at his game following his bad boy image at Brum.

Mid lifecrisis takes a hold as poster yearns for the eighties again, sigh.
