On his recruitment, his ability to sell an idea early was fabulous, but it fell apart terribly. His ability to pick out talent, however, leaves much to be desired.

Not sure I agree with that - he was in for Stones at the same time as Moyes but lost out to the bigger club.

When things started to go wrong he listened to the fans and tried to defend a lead for the last ten minutes but the players weren't strong enough, particularly the defenders - and most of them have been doing the same for the last couple of seasons!

Getting sideways here, but Martinez's transfers are questionable at best: Lukaku, Barry, Deulofeu, and Lennon all came in on loan first. He previously worked with McCarthy, Kone, Alcaraz, Robles, and Cleverly some of whom weren't very good. He was romanced by Besic's world cup, then brought in Galloway, Henen, Eto'o, McGeady, Holgate, Leandro, Funes Mori, Niasse, Shani Tarashaj, and Fatty Moulds, as well as Atsu and Traore on loan only.
