Papering over the cracks

October will be the most difficult period in recent times for this club, i see a real spanking on the cards.

Yes we were cheated. Yes Suarez is a cheat. Atkinson is part of a oligarchy of new football taking money undoubtedly from vested interests. Those interests are dictating the game and FIFA, the FA and TV need the so called 'big' teams to win. There is no marketing or TV if Wolves, Sunderland, Norwich and Blackburn are in the top 4.

That said...we need to look at our overall performances, defensive displays and constant talking down of the team by Moyes and Kenwright. The team ISNT as bad as Moyes makes out. Its in Moyes interest to play down expectations, as it is in Kenwrights.
Of course the only solution wont happen: the existing Everton board to go and a rich investor.I keep thinking there must be something to look forward to...but I cant see anything except us going downhill.:(

Sorry, but that's a candidate for most stupid post ever seen on GOT.

10 men after 20 minutes in that heat against a side that has spent 300x more than us in the last few years, and you're judging the performance after that?

I think the site you're looking for is toffeeweb mate. Or more likely RAWK.

Why he is right? and not afraid to see the trees for the forest!

Lad have a word,For 20mins we were in the game and it could have gone either way,as soon as Rodwell seen red it was game over

How can you look at the "overall" performance of the team when the sending off runied any game planm Moyes had

They scored 2 goals, and had a pen saved. 0-3 would not have been unfair.

We had FOUR shots all game & they had 60% of the possession, of course with 11 men thats expected.

They also had 9 corners .. they BATTERED US.

Sorry mate, but there's nothing anyone can say that will convince me that ludicrous red card wasn't the be-all-and-end-all of that game. It completely, fully, decisively, ultimately and utterly swung an even game entirely in Liverpool's favour. There is no underlying, more rational meaning to that game. We got completely screwed yet again against Liverpool, and that's won them the game.

Why he is right? and not afraid to see the trees for the forest!

This post is so negative it's unreal. Firstly, there is no need whatsoever on a day like today. We have been robbed. Even reds were admitting it minutes after the game. Secondly We were giving them a game until the sending off and creating the better opportunites and from cahill's chance were unlucky not to go in front. I was pleased with the way we played until the card. From that point on it was Liverpool's for the taking ENTIRELY because of the referee.

That was a team worth hundreds of millions (apparently). And it was 12 v 10. 2-0 is no disgrace. OF COURSE THEY BATTERED US. We had a vital player sent off before the half hour mark ffs. That means the remaining players have to work twice as hard and were probably ****ed after 70 mins

I think the point is that we'll never know if they would have 'battered us' with 11 v 11. Going on the 20mins or so before Rodwell was sent off we were doing fine and if anything I was sitting there thinking we were looking good for a goal. That is not to say Liverpool wouldn't have got one either, but it certainly wasn't a case of them dominating us, or even looking like they would. We aren't that far behind them in my opinion (but maybe I'm biased). They did a professional job on us with 11 v 10 so no complaints there, but to say they battered us is overstating things. 2-0 was fair enough under the circumstances, but those same circumstances undoubtedly influenced proceedings!

When John Aldridge is on the wireless saying he's not even certain that it was a free kick, let alone a red card, then that says it all. Cos if anyone holds a biased opinion it's aldo.

Bang on

Before the red card we had nothing to worry about

The RS looked average and even with 10 men it took 2 cock ups to give then the game

Gutted by the result, but the way we performed in that heat with 10 men and getting fuk all off tvvatkinson showed me our team have got bo!!ocks and they gave there all when they could have caved in so credit to the blue boys today!
Bottom we were unlucky thanks to a p!ss poor referee!
