Pair Lukaku with Kone up front

If it means cutting down on our 7 defender formation, i'm in.
Its nice to say we have two defenders in the opposition box, but i'd rather swap one of them in there for another striker and have the defenders outside the box crossing in to them tbh.

Another variation could see one up front with 2 AM's.. Naismith and Barkley behind Lukaku for example.

....Kone and Lukaku up front would be high risk as far as I'm concerned. Basically when the opposition has the ball we'd be two men down because neither of those are the type to drop and put in a shift. Colin Harvey employed 2 up front but one of them had to put in a real shift, literally becoming a midfield player when the opposition had it.

We need to be hard to beat at this stage and to be fair this was the case before Arsenal. Just need to turn a couple of draws into wins.

When Kone came on v young boys he was poor, and in the away fixture he was not taken as his knees. Could not be trusted on the artificial pitch? Have we signed an old Crock?

The ideal partner for Lukaku would be a tidy player with quick feet and an eye for a through ball, basically David Silva. The closest we have to this sort of player is Osman. Now, after three everyone, One, Two, Three............
FFS!

Been screaming for this since the season started... Kone has looked good as well in patches (admittedly against teams who are beat). Think the odds of Bobby doing that are about as long as Rom's shlong

Thought Kone was decent against Young Boys - he was very unlucky not to score.
He's been badly underused tbh, to the detriment of both him and Lukaku.

do we file this with "lazy" stereotyping @Woolly Blue ?

City and United generally have two up front, most teams in Spain too. Some people will tell you that it's a suicidal tactic though...
Thing with United playing two up front is that one of them is usually a guy like Rooney who will drop back and pick up the ball in the midfield if needed. That's not part of rom or Kones game

Kone at Wigan before their F A cup win looked super fast - when he has come on for us he looks yards slower- his knee Has always been a problem for him that's why Wigan got him cheap!

A bad buy for an ageing player who looks crocked - always injured- a very expensive bench warmer- I hope I am wrong ?
