Owl's are the most sophisticated of animal. It's a waste of time thinking they're cute or kind of cool because the owl doesn't actually care what you think.

On and on, over the hill and the craic is good
I recently visited a friend in Catalyuna who has an extensive farm with a wide variety of crops, grapes, olives, cork
He doesnt use any pesticides but has instead encouraged owls to nest extensively on his land
We went out in an open topped jeep with a searchlight a few weeks ago and saw a huge number of Long eared and barn owls but heard many many more
As a party piece we went to a patio at the back of his farmhouse and he called a wild Scops Owl which flew into a tree over where we were sitting and answered his calls .
It was one of the coolest things Ive ever witnessed and Ive been birding for many many years
Owls are cool but according to him incredibly stupid
