Oviedo Injury Progress...

I just hope he doesn't get frozen out by Baines and disappears into obscurity after such a promising few games. Not that I was him to start over Baines but by not letting him go to Utd Martinez obviously considers Baines as very important to the team. Oviedo hasn't looked great when played as a left-winger so where will he fit in?

I'd have him over Baines tbh. He did more in his few games at LB than Baines did all season. I think he suits martinez style of play better, think he is better going forward and better defensively, also he is faster. But Baines is better in dead ball situations and crossing, he also reads the game better. All personal taste I think but I'd prefer Oviedo.

Gutted for the lad, but always felt it was wishful thinking as that leg looked pretty fooked and although he gave it his all, time was always against him.

It is official. I now have zero interest in the world cup.

Dear Lord, may as many as possible of our lads be inexplicably dropped from their national squads and arrive back fresh and raging to preseason training with Bobby.

Hopefully, this is just a wee timing issue and Bryan will be as good, if not better, than ever next season.

Sad reading about this, noramlly i dont want blues playing but the circumstances why Bryan wont be in Brazil are a real shame

If that was Martinez's thinking then I would imagine he would have cashed in when he had the chance. While we don't have the money to have two quality players in every position then we need to be careful and having two awesome leftbacks, how helpful is that?

Honestly thought he'd made it.. seemed to off recovered ridiculously quick aswell, obviously just not enough to be at a major international tournament! Heartbreaking feeling to be told that!!

Expect him back in time for pre-season anyways, & he'll have Europa to look forward too! Onwards Oviedo!!

We're quite lucky to have both of them, well sorted in that position for next season
