Overhaul

Basing this on the last 6-8 games. We've been poor. No excitement or good football played. Last game probably City.
A fair assessment, based on the last 6 or 8 games.

Baines hardly any crossing etc tired or not it just hasn't been a good second half of the season from him.
He's played every minute of every game with the exception of a couple of early-round cup games. His attacking play is based on pace, which relies on fitness, which is eroded by continual work with no rest. And there is a suspicion he's been carrying an injury since the Cheltenham game.... and a team on his back for most of the season. He's the best LB in the prem by a country mile. He's dipped below his own high standards, but he's not been bad.

Osman missing for 90% of the game today just being carried for again second half of season after a great start.
He's getting on in age. You can't expect him to play as often as he does and remain effective.

For all his efforts Victor has proved he will never be a top top goalscorer.
Agree. He should be an impact sub, getting ten to twelve goals a season coming off the bench and bullying tiring CBs.

Jelavic just pants
The service to Jela has been pants. He didn't score ELEVEN lucky goals in 16 games last season, did he!

The list could go on I'm just annoyed that we've finished the season with nothing. January transfer window really was an opportunity to kick on and give it ago. We've got some serious chopping and changing to do.

On the face of the last six games we really will be stuck with 6-10th place finishes. I presume chances created over the last 6 games or so will be much much shorter than the start of the season. We just look out of date with no ideas.

We need to phase out Osman and Pienaar, both of whom are starting to look their age, and find a more talented upgrade for Gibson. Oviedo needs to play more, allowing Baines to rest periodically; Barkley needs to play more, he's an exciting prospect; Mirallas needs to play in the free role behind the striker because he's prone to drifting out of position when he plays on a flank. We need midfielders first and foremost.

Is that Muller or Falcao?

We do need a striker and creative midfielder, preferably with pace. They cost a lot of money. Look at Utd, last season they lost the league on goal difference so they spent over £20million on a 20 goal a season striker. Unless we find more Mirallas', then we're going to struggle to buy exactly what we need.

The players are tired. Lack of depth has caught up to us. Can't 100% fault the players IMO. Has Baines had a rest all season? The game was painful to watch today, but it was from both sides. We don't need an overhaul. We need more quality players in addition to the ones already on the books.

If we can get 20m for Fellaini from abroad then I'd take it as it would strengthen us in other areas. But I think I will cry if we go into next season with Osman starting games. His decline since about November has been shocking. He ought to be a bench warmer at best next season.

Moyes needs to decide whether Duffy has a future at the club. If the answer is yes, then he should be cashing in on Heitinga this summer to the highest bidder, hopefully anything up to 5m.

Apart from that there aren't too many players aside from Baines who will generate much money. Jelavic could go but would be 5m tops.

I say Fellaini and Heitinga ought in the summer and 25m to invest in three or four players. Shame this massive TV deal won't provide any cash for Moyes / the new manager. You'll see clubs like Southampton and fúcking Hull City outspend us by about three to one, all while our 'operating costs' mysteriously rise to take into account the masses of cash flowing into the clubs' coffers.

25m would buy us the decent striker and central midfielder we so desperately need. Then it'd leave money for few other squad fillers.

We need to be pushing players like Osman and Pienaar onto the fringes of the team from next season. I would love to see a massive overhaul this summer, but can't see it.

Imagine we could rival transfer powerhouses like Sunderland and Stoke City, we'd be brilliant.

Maybe tiredness did play part - I am not sure what it was. But we should/could have won today The Kopites are all over the place at the moment and certainly not the team they was a few years ago.

We certainly do need a few players to add to the squad to give our better players a little rest and enable to us some rotation (hate that phrase) but that is the time we live in. No longer one looks to build a first 11 but a 22+.

I would like to see an experienced striker brought in but like others have done, if we could afford it to look down the leagues and bring in some young talent that we can build up who are hungry to play Premiership football. Look at what has happened B Dortmund. I think we could have best of both worlds.
