Our team lacks leadership

You see other teams with leaders who can pick the rest of the team up e.g. Gerrard or in the past Roy Keane. These type of players keep their team going in bad times, who is that player for us...I don't see one myself. Nobody stands out as somebody who is going to rally the troops and get them motivated, frustrating.

Not every successful team had a Keane or a Gerrard. You could argue that Liverpool have been mostly unsuccessful during Gerrard's time.

I agree in the sense that we don't have one of these, but I think there are a couple of leaders about: Distin, Baines, Jagielka, Osman, Howard, Barry...

Lads, McCarthy is our man. Maybe not yet though as he's not even completed his first season here, but as i see it he should be vice captain after Ossie (currently Baines or Howard have captained in both Ossie and Jags' absence). Martinez also wants him to be captain and as you see he has the passion for it. Lad was gutted after the final whistle today.

There were lots of things lacking on the pitch today, but i don't think we should be worried about leadership, like. Lots of strong characters in the squad, we just need them to get at the oppo with a bit more determination. Barkley and Lukaku were soft as poop today.

Aggressive personalities are overrated, most of the time the rest of the team just look at them thinking 'tit'.

we have good pros hard workers and good leaders. what we dont have is a fighter who dont like losing and will run through brick walls to pull us back into matches. a player the opposition are scared of when hes up for it.
the closest we have is mccarthy imo but he lacks voice and a snarl .
gazza keane viera gattuso are 4 old players that did that role.
id kill for a clone of any of them.

Agree, watching today's game this is what I was thinking, we have solid pro's but no one who really will stuck in and grab the team / game by the scruff of the neck.

Do not post defecation, animal or otherwise
This is our future leader:
