Great wind up mate.

Meanwhile we have a broker of football buyouts happily forging a path to the sale of two more Premiership clubs who are up [Poor language removed] creek....a man who states publicly an Everton buyout is bleak. This might have something to do with

a) the realism of both those boardrooms in settling on a price that doesn't scare the horses

b ) the clubs actually being up for sale and not looking for a bag of donated loot thrown over the wall of Goodison Park.

To be honest mate, your assuming a buy out is a good thing, i dont necessarily! But Then im a big fan of what Bill and Davey are doing at the club.

Hiding Bill's name behind Moyes isn't that impressive an argument, tbh. Cup final defeat and 5th in the league, whilst a decent return on the meagre resources afforded Moyes by the board, simply isn't good enough. We need trophies and we wont ever get it with this set up.

Some things really are that simple.

You forgot to say in your opinion. Whats wrong with the set up, i cant remember a season were we have not shown progress again beating our personal best this season in doing it on the back of missing key players, logic dictates that if this continues we will get there. We have quality players, we have a young team laden with internationals and young quality breaking through all the time, clearly the club is on the brink of implosian. Im sure City would spunk a couple of hundread million to get close to our coattails.

If it aint broke!

In my opinion, that's deluded.

We dont have a young team with internationals and quality players breaking through?

We wont win trophies with the squad we have now. And I really wouldn't bet big money that one of our big names wont be prised away this summer.

We are the best of the rest...again...which is just another way of saying we're treading water when all's said and done.

In your opinion mate, im confident this squad can challenge for a top four and has tropheys in it. I dont think we wont make signings either, even if we lashed 100 mill into the squad some wouldnt be happy, personally i dont think big investment in the squad is needed at all.

Im clear on one thing, if a big name player leaves it will be because they want to leave as it always has been under Davey's regime, im pretty sure of that.

Will you be one of those idiots who tell how the club again spent heavily if Lescott is sold and that money is used to buy someone else?

I'm inclined to agree with Neiler on most point here. Investment isn't necessarily a good thing. Would love for Everton to have 30-50 million GBP to spend on players every season. However, we have to make sure we get the right person in charge. What if we get an investor like Abramovich and who doesn't have the patience to build for success, but expects an immediate return? Moyes could be gone within the year. Don't want to see that happening, so I honestly prefer Bill Kenwright over such an investor. Agree that we do need more money to seriously challenge the top four for the PL title, but we also need stabillity. Still think we'll finish best of the rest next season again. Can't deny the progression made since BK took over from agent Johnson. Said it before, but the only down thing to Bill Kenwright's regime is that he doesn't have Bill Gates kind of money

Let's be frank, davek, what a new owner really means is somebody with greater resources than bill to underwrite greater debt for the club. in the long run a better run & more successful club may be able to pay-off those debts but in the short term the only thing a new owner would do is spend more money we haven't got.

moyes is doing a great job on the park but the running of the club otherwise could be much better, in particular the commercial operation. over the years we've all heard the tales of poor service, lack of stock & a poor range of branded product & i'm sure getting this part of the operation right would go along way towards making up for the modest return hoped for on DK (which probably wouldn't be realised anyway).

i suspect bill is somewhat in thrall to the whims of the other major share-holders as regards what he can & can't do with the club & don't expect to see any changes at board level until we get a decision on DK. but in the meantime i'd like to see the likes of elstone matching off-field the performance & progress moyes has been making on-field.

Less of the idiot remarks, now.
I'm sorry but I'm so fed up with this bullshit. People swallow the "we have broken our transfer record so-and-so many times under Kenwright" and are incapable of realising a) just how much money has been recouped from sales and b) how much more money Sky pours into the game (and how everyone else has broken their records as well).

It would be much better if they just said they are happy that the club has to sell to buy but they are happy with that (even though it means no more NSNO) but this complete stupidity.. I wrote on kipper yesterday that there was a time I thought Everton fans were something different. That was a bit foolish, I admit. These days I cringe when someone posts a link to some other team's forum pointing out something silly (usually RS forum) because our forums (including this one) has just as bad and deluded postings. There's really no difference in RS fans telling how they are two players away from winning the league from our fans telling we are two players away from CL place / being a great team again etc.
