Good shout but as alternative to that and in the spirit of the shouts for Super Kevin Campbell...

Joe Royle coming in as manager - absolute miracle that he took us from the bottom of the league to safety and an FA Cup win when there was a very good chance we were heading for oblivion and quite possibly a Man City style drop into League 1 after that.

My memory is a little hazy how the mood was when we actually made the signing. @Nymzee could you shed some light on the subject?

The mood was great. He'd just had a fantastic season with Man U and was a sensational signing....and then it very nearly fell through and Alex Ferguson was talking about him coming back to Man Utd.
