Got to have somebody lined up if they’re allowing him to leave. To recoup the money we paid is great business but we’d be crazy to go in to the second half of the season with Just Tosun and DCL as forward options.

That assumes Everton are an averagely ran club with moderate foresight.

Whatever people may think of him, his games/goals ratio in the PL is very good. The likes of WBA/Swansea etc cant buy a goal at the minute and £13mill if he gets some crucial goals is a snip if it prevents a team from going down.
For some clubs its worth a gamble.

While im not his biggest fan, I do agree, his goalscoring record is very good and we should DEFO be rinsing somebody for 20m in this market.

I would keep him till summer at least. Sandro has not adapted and if we are going to persevere with him as our impact sub and not Niasse and he doesn’t adapt, and Tosun gets injured or doesn’t adapt, then we are left with dcl. I like dcl but he doesn’t take chances, unlike Niasse.

If we have someone definitely lined up, then ok, but it seems bad management to let him go with no proven Proven prem striker while Niasse has shown he can score over this season and last season for 2 poor attacking teams.

If we were to re-coup out money for Niasse and the re-invest wisely I have no issue in letting him go. The re-investing wisely worries me.

What we should be doing is identifying a striker to bring in, but firstly clear out Niasse and Sandro, then send DCL out on loan. Only then should be approach our first and only choice striker on deadline day. If he rejects us it's ok, cos we can play Sigurdsson up there and Rooney in number 10 role.

Oumar had a great chance to impress starting against Utd and choked. His goals per min stats are impressive though, far superior to DCL. As an impact sub he's vastly more potent than Valencia of last season.
It's a big gamble on Tosun being an instant success and staying fit as DCL has so little goal threat. It's obvious that Sam has been told he has to trim the bloated squad to raise funds to buy again and the Prince is to be sacrificed.

Clearly Sam wants to buy this window, and seemingly the only way we can do taht is by getting rid of some of our half decent players, as opposed to the chaff. if that is the strategy, we absolutely must not let him go until the guy he wants in is brought in at the same time. we don't want another Lukaku/Giroud situation. surely they know that though...
