Has Scored against both Liverpool and Arsenal in the past, yet to see tosun do that

I know what your saying but those sides have added more quality since then ...I like the lad but we need top quality firepower up front which is,nt Tosun or this fella

I would honestly wait and see regarding this. I am hoping Silva can set us up to get the best out of the likes of Tosun. Most strikers would have struggled the past couple of seasons with us. Tosun looks like he can finish and Niasse can make chances. Hopefully Calvert-Lewin will carry on improving too. A new addition would be nice of course.

Agree with that..a new addition might be the difference tho between getting European football (Europa) or consolidating last years league position.

He’s effective but he’s shown he can’t start games.
...yet

or he might just settle in this sub / bit part role for a couple of years. He might be humble or self-aware to know that PL sub or squad player is a good achievement or matches his level. IF we find a few players like that, 'squad' players who are good in that role, then it will work for us. I don't know about the stuff in his private life, though, but he looks like he's a good team member, seems to get on well with people and be a positive, fit, strong influence.

Until we can offer CL this is the standard of player we can attract. So unless one of the younger players proves to be a hidden gem...

And? Under his reign we have pretty much been the best of the rest for most of that time. As I have said many, many times, not great, not awful either.

Also there is a difference between liking him and not getting the hate he receives.

You seem to see things in a very black and white manner?
Pretty much this on lots of players for too many people. And throw in a FRAUD for good measure. Which I never have understood why anyone would call players. They don't pick themselves for games do they?

Complete no-brainer from a manager's point of view.

Tosun, Niasse and Calvert-Lewin all offer something different to each other. Niasse proved last season that he is worth having around and isn't as bad as people believed he was.

With it on record that we're only after a few, quality additions in key areas, I'd have been concerned if Silva thought that striker was somewhere that needed addressing first before the weaker areas. There's at least four new players who need to come in before we think about replacing Niasse.

Makes me laugh how many of you slag Niasse off, saying he's a terrible footballer while praising DCL who can't score to save his life.

As for the ones saying he's not good enough, even as a reserve striker .... crazy. Like we're going to be able to buy a striker who's good enough to start for other Premier League teams and have him sit on our bench. Err, when was the last time we had a backup striker who scored more than him?

Here's a list of some of the backup strikers we've had over the last decade;

Kone
Valencia
Naismith
Vellios
Anichebe
Straqualursi
Silva
Beckford
Jo

I'm pretty sure none of those have got a better scoring record than Niasse, but yeah, keep on saying he's not good enough for us.

Positioning and finishing are probably the two most important skills as a striker, both of which Niasse excels at and are why he scores goals.

Luckily Silva is smart enough to value what Niasse brings to the squad.

Positioning and finishing, those are the skills that Niasse doesn't have... You can not praise someone's finishing just because he scores. He scores but it doesn't make his finishing perfect. Take a closer look at his missed shots. All random, no striker technique, he is just swinging, kicking, pushing, fighting.

I can easily say that he is more like a bully in the school who terrorizes the little ones, scares them but there will always be someone who knows karate, krav maga, etc... to beat him up.

He has something precious tho, striker's luck. Many don't have that.

This guy can score somehow, I'm not a fan or not a hater of him either but he must remain in the squad. Just do not praise him blindly, it is funny he is being praised for what he doesn't have in his skill set.

Lads can we have no more of this in future please? It's childish on all fronts.

We do not allow, and immediately remove, links to The Sun, so obviously we don't want it repeated here, however it's probably a bit harsh on someone who didn't realise the original story/lie was from them in the first place.

Reported for mentioning that name

;)

I think you are totally wrong about his positioning. He takes up some great positions which is one of the reasons why he gets so many chances.
