About 2-3 years ago i joined a forum of every (then) club in the Premier League as part of a weekly column i ran on another Everton forum that has since dissolved. It was basically just a scouting mission prior to the game, i'd go across (in peace of course) and ask them a few questions, how they felt their season was going ? Their prediction for the upcoming game, discuss their danger men and our danger men and any other questions relevant to the encounter. Then i'd return and write up a report, post a decent overview of their answers (usually finding the optimist, the pessimist, the one who hates our club, and the fence-sitter) including any injuries/suspensions they may have and what their fans felt was their best formation and how they might line up.
It was quite successful, it also built ties with other clubs and made the most out of the build-up before the match. I don't go on them any more, like i said, i only registered for the purpose of the report, went on twice a season and that was it.
