Ossie

Ossie has been carrying a groin injury for quite some time hasn't he? Irregardless of what a lot of people think he's a great lad, just soldiers on.
When yoau have a player who plays through a match knowing that he's got a broken toe, you know you've got a committed player. In an ideal situation, i'd reluctantly have dropped him for a while, but he is an under valued player whom we seem to take for granted.

He's better than many on this forum think, and while VDM has a bit more skill, Ossie has attitude, commitment and no amount of small skill himself, and can last 90 minutes.

I'll be well pissed off if he changes the defence to accomadate the midfield... And I'll be even more pissed off if he pushes Arteta out wide again. I say Leave the defence and give VDM a run from the start...

If Sir Leon is out then it is OK. Spud, Cahill, Gosling and Jack the lad will do the job. Pip sitting behind them and jo up front.

Job done

Its better than playing VDM or Baines LM. But i suppose he will just play Vic, Goose on the wings.

It's really not to be honest, the West Brom game earlier in the season proved that to be honest. I'd rather have any of the players mentioned above him, he simply isn't ready.

Maybe he is a little young, but i would rather somebody with a future at the club played than a player who is either to big for his boots or a player who has drank away his career.

nowadays, your ability determines your age, not vice versa

If you are good enough, you are old enough

I wouldn't, I'd rather use the more useful player. A player who can make an impact in a game we need to win. Baxter despite his talent isn't ready and won't be used.

Anichebe, Gosling and Van der Meyde are the more suitable players for this game, if Osman is actually out.

I think we'll play:

-------------Cahill----------------
VDM-------Gosling--------Victor
-------Mikel-------Neville---------

Totally agree toccy, a cup game like this is not the time to start experimenting with young players. VDM despite his problems has been there and done it and 'could' provide that vital spark
