It is not a coincidance that a midfield that featured neville and fellaini in the middle we struggled and only began to play some attractive football after osman was brought into the CENTRE midfield. And I didn't see him bullied off the ball, by the way. He played almost as though he was on steroids.

Well played to moyes. Putin was struggling and so was the team so he made a strategic sub that WORKED. Osman is much better than he's givem credit for. I'm not ashamed to beat that drum

Osman proved himself a very capable central midfielder last season, alongside a defensive midfielder and Cahill he's very effective. He's the closest thing we have to Arteta, I think he'd be the natural replacement.

Neville and Fellaini doesn't really work, they probably both need an Arteta alongside them and they don't compliment each other. It's like having two crabs in the midfield passing sideways, taking a touch and getting rid of the ball.

Jack Rodwell would also be a more suitable candidate, I'd have no problems having him in there.

Had hibbo not been struggling, dithering davey would not have made that change in a million years.

Furthermore, Osman is a good solid central midfielder, but playing out wide as he has for most of the campaign, he's ineffective. I think thats why he gets no credit, he certainly shows a major improvement when he is tucked inside, though.

Some of our best football last season was when we had a midfield of Carsley, Ossie and Cahill. Carsley was the holding player like Neville has been this season, we let Cahill bomb forward, and Ossie was the passer in the 3.

Mikky, before he got injured was the one who dictated things for us in the middle and as soon as he got injured i straight away though that Ossie was the natural and ideal one to replace him. I think it is no coincidence that Ossie's dip in form came when he was moved out wide. His best position by far is central midfield.

He should be the one now in my opinion to play there and given the task of being our creative player.

I was beginning to think the idiotic 'dithering' tag was a thing of the past. I think you'll find he's been making more subs, more often and earlier in the match than ever before. HOWEVER, you may be right about him not having made that sub had hibbo not been struggling. I'd like to think moyes said, 'screw this, let's do THAT.'

but you must admit he's been handling substitutions better?

Well said, and I would like to add that I'm frustrated that Baines is being given the free kick opportunity when Osman is the one who whips angry corners into the box and I think he shoulld be the one taking the free kicks as well.

Can't be arsed dragging up past threads of the times when Ossie has been slated. They are all **** anyway.

Mr Leon Osman is THE most under rated player in the Prem. Said it once, and I will say it again.

I have watched him from the youth, to now, and I still raise my hat to THE most honest, hard working player EFC has seen in the past 20 years.

Yes he makes screw ups, every player does. But he has saved us too many times, and never looks for accolades.

A thread earlier was talking about testimonials.

Ossie and Hibbert will be the only 2 that are coming that deserve it.

(on a side note, Dunc should be made to have one. He may not have been the greatest, but he is and always will be our's)

Agreed

refreshing to see these points of view

Check the back catalogue of my posts. There are loads of positive fools like me. Educated by EFC fools, but fools all the same.

Some hold the always complaining views, many more like to sing the blues more.

Ossie is a stalwart, Hibbo also(granted less talented creativity), but why have we let others go, and these still stay.

Maybe because Moyes knows a good player when he sees one.
