Osman has been carrying Everton

David Moyes believes the 31-year-old is finally getting the recognition he deserves: "I am delighted for him because he has been one of the players who has carried us for a lot of the season, he really has. Yes, at times he has dipped under his best like all players will do, but so far this season he has been very good.

"It's good that Roy's continued to pick him because he was first picked at a time when he was really in top form [against Sweden in November] but it's been tough for Leon because for a lot of the season he's been the one who's carried the team.

"His performances have been excellent. Whatever we've asked him to do — we've asked him to do different jobs at times — he's done it, he's come up with some important goals and he's had his best season at Everton for me.

"He's been exceptional and I'm delighted he's been given another call up by England."

If moyes actually believes this, then his judgement has been shot to pieces by years of backing Kenwright and he needs to go, quickly.
just about sums rusty bollox up .osman couldnt carry a chippy meal

*sighs* misleading title is misleading. "one of". Agenda.

This lid gets far more stick than he deserves. All of our players have had bad games this year. He has been very decent this year. Given the fact that the likes of Mirallas and Gibson have been injured, a few of the players have certainly had to carry the team at times when players like Naismith, Hitzlsperger etc have been playing.

Osman has been most improved player this season and has been a pivotal part of the push for Europe. As of late his performances have been average. But he's has played a major part in a lot the games.
Is it just me who thinks there's a link between his best form coinciding with our best form. And vice versa. That means he's a vital part of the team imo.

I really wonder if people on here watch football at times.

A) moyes is just talking up one of our players befrore a important game for him. What do you want him to say he's crap.

B) osman has been in the top 3 players for me this season. Behind felliani and Gibson and seeing as they've both had spells out and osman really stepped it up also he had to partner Neville in midfield.

How about just getting behind one of our boys for one eh lads.

Oh yeah and **** the wigan match it's over with forget it.

This.

Calm down gents. It is a typo by the journos involved. What he actually said was:

but it's been tough for Leon because for a lot of the season he's been the one who's carried the tea

Hard job refreshing the lads after training at Finch Farm....

Only player we've got that can play the role he does. I wouldn't say he's carried us, but we rely on him to play well. When he plays well he's superb, but when he's off his game he causes problems because of how much he sees of the ball.

..I'm a huge Ossie fan and think his quality is underrated on these pages. He has been the hub of a good side and has had a really good season culminating in deserved international recognition. Saying all that, although an integral member I don't feel he's carried the team.
