Why oh why does no other club ever show any interest in either of these two. They never figure in any rumour either. We will be stuck with them until they cannot bend down to tie their boot laces.(n)

Please some one find a rumour that another club wants to sign them.

Because they're rubbish? If you believe some on here anyway...

Hopefully they won't be needed in the starting 11 next year but I'd keep them as very decent back up players.

I think that they're just seen as players that play well under a good manager and team rather than stand out players that improve a squad.

Teams would buy them if we were willing sell them thought, I'm sure of that.

Good squad players ala Harper n Power. Not the best but could do a job. I thought Osman would have a bigger impact, but hasn't really pushed on. Scored some important goals to be fair to the lad. Hibbo......well he has been discussed/slated enough on here.

Exactly. We've not heard of people sniffing round Yakubu, Baines, Cahill, Jagielka etc. But guaranteed if we wanted to sell there would be plenty of buyers out there.

Maybe Moyesey just wants to keep them, eh?!

Agreed. They would walk blindfolded into most of the lower placed PL teams first 11, I'm sure of that.

If nothing else, Ossie and Hibbo are good cover - they are serviceable and give the side added depth. Most would agree that there are better players available but I assume their wage bills make them very attractive players for Everton. Add that they're both Academy kids so Everton knows exactly what to expect from each.

And Hibbert and Osman are as important for Everton as Gerrard and Carragher for Liverpool, the manager has said.

“I think he has risen to the challenge,” Moyes told the club’s official website. “Hibbo has been one of the ones who has been with us all the way. There is competition and he knows that.

“He is having to keep stepping up to the mark, so does Leon Osman. But those two boys, for me, are part of the brickwork here.”

He added: “They are our equivalent of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, if you want to put it that way. They are local boys and know what is required. (Setanta)

Interesting comments guys but TBH after the Cup Final and that Villa game, every manager will perceive how they can attack Everton. Our vulnerability has been exposed for all to see.

I really hope we have some alternatives on the right flank for next season apart from these 2.

That statement by Moyes says it all really.

I also happen to agree with him.

Seems to me as though he is saying that cause they are local lads and have been here a while letting them go would be like losing part of the furniture so they might as well stay.

Which is nice and all but not when sentamentality starts to cloud his vision and it harms the team.

As much as i hate to say it, being local lads is about all Osman and Hibbert do have in common with the other 2.
