Opportunity missed?

Who would've taken £18m and Joe Hart for Lescott? I think we may have screwed the pooch there, if there was an opportunity.

I have no confidence in anyone behind Howard and God help us if he gets injured for any length of time because it would spell this for our season, IMHO...

Joe Hart??? How many City games did you watch last year? Shay Given was brought in for a reason.

Does anyone remember that missile that Arteta sent towards him last season (Joe Hart) i think it was at Eastlands. Dunno how he saved it but it sure knocked him about. It was a massive shot.

So it's not an opportunity missed then.

I think the poster was saying we could have got him since he went to Birmingham, but im not sure. But as we didnt enquire about him then i would say no once again. Who you think is coming in tonight Ghost?

Not a massive Howard fan he can definitely improve his overall game, to be fair his form in the last six months has been fantastic!!

I can think of better keepers then Hart - Tim Krul at Newcastle for one.

Truthfully? Not a clue mate.

I would have liked to have had Bentley come in on loan, but City seem to want to buy up all the players in the league.

Heitinga clearly doesn't want to sign for Everton.

Van der Vaart has personal issues with his wife's illness so that will impact on where he goes, so don't expect to see that one happen.

Banega also clearly doesn't want to sign.

So no idea who would come in.

Its not looking good isnt it. Personally i think it will be similar signings to Castillo and Jacobsen (quality wise i mean) from last time round. Ah well what can ya do.

Hoping for a surprise.

He has money, but he may wait until Jan. Saying that he don't like doing business in Jan because its more expensive.

This post was just me thinking out loud, that's all...like I said, my confidence in anyone behind Howard is nil and neither Ruddy or especially (given his age now) Turner appear to be panning out. Why Turner's still here, I have no idea. I've seen more potential out of Hart than I have from all three keepers behind Howard and he's younger than both Ruddy and Turner. Yes, he wants first team football and yes, I've asked the question after-the-fact. I just thought I'd throw it out there.

We've talked endlessly about what we need from the back 4 on up but I think we should've discussed the GK situation a bit more and, for anyone who doesn't rate Howard, the fact that we haven't discussed this IS because he's done well and we haven't been forced to deal with it...that's a credit to him, like it or not.
