I normally roll my eyes at the PC brigade, but that said this is an incredibly poor organised advert.

At first I just saw the transformation from darker skinned to lighter skinned with "before" and "after" above. It took me a few looks to notice the skin things in the back.

It's clearly an accident, but a cock-up nonetheless.
