Had we beat Palace we would have been in 3rd today. Obviously with City having 2 games in hand though. But games in hand mean nothing as we have found out.

Europa league/5th is a great result for Bob's first season but we should fight to win every game and if we miss CL by 1 point I won't be too distraught.

yep,as said europa league is pretty much ours,12 ahead of man utd with 12 left to play for them, they need to win all and us to lose all lol for us not to get europa league,euro comp was the aim at the start and we have one, near enough 100% ensured

5th is assured a place in the Europa regardless. Everton can only be caught by Spurs (if they secure at least 7 points from 3 games, 3 points or one win will ensure Everton finish at least 5th, barring a huge shift in GD). One point eliminates Man Utd from the possibility of finishing 5th.

6th is guaranteed Europa if City remain in the top 4 (Carling Cup place) - for City to fall out of the top 4 only Everton or Spurs can replace them in the top 4 (in the case of Spurs with 3 wins and City losing all 5 remaining games)

The FA Cup place will go to either Arsenal (as winners) if they fall out of the top 4. Only Everton or Spurs can displace them. Or Hull (as winners, or runners-up if Arsenal finish in the top 4).

If Chelsea should win the Champions League and not finish in the top 4 then the team finishing 4th would take an extra place in the Europa.

In all of the above scenarios Everton have a significantly strong chance of Europa (or Champions League) football next season.

As things stand at the moment - Liverpool are in the Champions League (guaranteed). Chelsea, Arsenal and City are also assured of European football next season.
