Don't forget to count the number of appearances made though. Naysmith wasn't a regular and will hopefully be replaced by Baines, with the young Scottish lad stepping up too. It'd be lovely if we signed Gonzalez to complete the midfield and Da Silva may contribute this season. Up front both Anichebe and Vaughan have a season behind them now so should be able to contribute a bit more and don't be surprised if Lukas doesn't make an appearance at some point.
Besides which I don't think squad rotation really comes into its own in the first half of the season anyway as the players should all be fresh having had a summer off. It's in the second half when numbers will be important, especially if we have a few cup runs. I wouldn't be surprised if we're doing ok in some of the cups if we don't bring in a few bodies in January on the cheap.

Well.. that Vaughan was going to miss out much of the first half of the season isn't anything new, and Cahill away for a couple of weeks has also been known for about a week.
I do however think our strikerforce is too weak now with BT gone, even though he didn't contribute much in form of goals, he still was a known player that the opponents had to take seriously. He had a proven past and noone knew when it was going to start again. We have a lot of promising young strikers, but I feel we need another experienced one as well with BT gone. If nothing else just to keep the youngsters alert and give them a mental cushion so to speak... not placing the whole future of the team on their shoulders.
