Hi guys

Sorry to invade your forum. I assure you that I am here in peace.

You may have seen an article in the programme on Tuesday about former Oldham Athletic player Ernie Cooksey who tragically died 5 years ago from skin cancer at the age of 28.

A group of us had a flag made in his memory and take it to Oldham and England games. Whenever we visit a new ground we put a report about our trip on our website as a way of remembering Ernie and trying to raise awareness about skin cancer.

Tuesday was the first trip to Goodison since Ernie's death and so I have just put the report up if you'd like to see what we made of the night out.

Please be aware that they are reports of the trip rather than the game. In fact, this one has much more about the game than most of th reports do (there's not much you can write about a nil-nil at S****horpe). It is also supposed to be biased so don't expect to agree with everything in there. That said, I don't think you come out too badly.

Anyway, here's the link and best of luck in the cup. I'd be more than happy for you to go on and win it now looking at who's left in it.

Sorry can't actually put it on as a link as I don't have enough posts so I've had to put spaces in. If someone could fix it for me I'd appreciate it.

Cheers

On the whole Moyes to leave thing there mate it's a very small minority who would have wanted him gone if we had lost.
Those who go a game the odd month or so are always them that ring up every week and winge there arses off.

Oh and on the stereotypical scouse woman comment, leave our women alone! They're not all like that you know.. you smelly thieving manc inbred! *Banter*

Good piece though mate and great what your doing with the flag. I seen it and wondered what it meant, all the best for the season! And well done for beating them murderers across the park!

Link above. Good luck mate

FYI the glass collector in the Spellow is a bit of a hero of ours. We allways say if we had a pub she would be the first person we employ.

Did you see an empty glass in there? No, thought not.

Not bad.

The second one was far more of a penalty, by the way. For the assault on Jelavic too.

Nice article,

i was a bit miffed you wasnt happy when the ref wasnt allowing rugby tackles on our keeper,

Good luck for the rest of the season. ive no doubt you will stay up.

Thanks for your comments guys.

Spot on about the glass collector. She certainly knew what she was doing!

Hope you are right about us staying up. A lot will depend on how we react to being knocked out of the cup. The players need to put it straight out of their minds and get on with the game against Sheff Utd tomorrow. It's probably a good thing that we are playing one of the better sides in the division as it should help them focus. I'd have been more convcerned if we'd been up against fellow strugglers.

are you talking about the filthy smack head who robs old people that they use as a glass collector ?

I grew up in Oldham. Was overjoyed you lot beat the RS. How is the old town doing these days?

Cracking write up mate, i wish we had somebody on here who did summaries of Everton games like that. Lovely touch with the flag inside the ground too.

Hope you don't get relegated, and i'm glad the replay will have provided you with some financial security, at least in the short term.
