Old Photos Of Where You Live

A great aerial picture, enabling you to try and pinpoint where your street might have been before the clearances along main routes like Everton Road and Netherfield Road. Landmarks helping us include the Everton Water Tower (top left), Whitley Gardens opposite the big terraced houses on Shaw Street and St Francis Xavier’s church below right on Langsdale Street -

Growing up, from 2 years to when I was 25 years old, my parents lived in a house which backed into Deansgrange Cemetery in South Co Dublin.

A huge cemetery, now full, it has over 150,000 people buried there.

As kids it was our huge playground and we used be in there all hours of the day and night.

We never saw anything supernatural and I have never feared death or the dead ever since.

However, there are quite a few living people that I swerve or would avoid if they loomed near me!!
