Little known fact
Robert Tressel (Noonan) Author of my favourite book 'The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists' lived in Caird Street during his teens. The views in the first picture would have been very familiar to him.

Absolutely hate that bottom pic, you come out of Lime St and are met with that monstrosity, I say to the wife nearly every time we go into town that, that and all of the St John’s market complex should be demolished.

Above is the train station for a town near me called Donaghadee. You might know it from the TV program Hope Street. While the train no longer runs to the town, tell tale signs of its existence can be seen on the pier and around the coast. In the modern picture above, the gable wall for the sheds can be seen.
