…not the best pic, looks like Mick Parle on the front row. I thought he had a great chance of coming through, we were teammates for so long I wonder how many goals he set up for me back in those days. I’m sure I have a newspaper cutting upstairs with us both in the headline as ‘starring’ in a big game.

Mick was a terrific footballer and also a bit of a nark on the pitch. Never really heard much of him post-Everton, he lived in Netherley/Belle Vale back in the day, I recall he opened a fashion shop on Wavertree High St, hope he’s had a happy life.

….yep, most of those are familiar. David Esser was an England schoolboy but he couldn’t stop me scoring a few goals when I played against him at Edgeley Park, Stockport ;). Cliff Marshall I knew a bit, he recently passed away which is sad, I think I played a few representative matches with Mike O’Halloran.
