Think that he was at one time the youngest player to play in the World Cup . Beating Pele. Whiteside represented N.Ireland in the World Cup when he was just 17. But as usual I could be wrong.
Good player. Bittersweet for me when he scored in that cup final. I drew him to score first in that final. Won I few quid. But would have traded it for an Everton win. Ah well……
Just a shame that our team back then did not have a few more days to prepare for that final…….
