When I was there they started a 5-a-side competition, the final of which was played on Sports Day. The first year it started I was in 4S, and we won the 5-a-side competition. That would be 1966. On the way to the final, we beat the teachers team, and Upper 6th 'A' - no mean feat. Both kicked the crap out of us, though! Colin Harvey refereed the final. Here's a photo of the winning 4S team. You will recognise the convent wall in the background. It rained heavily all afternoon. I'm on the exteme right, totally soaked!
Background right is teacher Ken Thomas,who helped O'Neill with the cross-country teams, and Fratter with the cricket teams.
