we (everton fc) can anounce that a third bid of £25 million from manchester city for the purchase of defender joleon lescott has been turned down.

although manchester citys rich arab owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan has in the last hour anounced a challenge to the managers of both clubs (mark hughes and david moyes) to race cars from goodison park to the city of manchester stadium - the winner getting lescott.

everton chairman bill kenwright has excepted the challenge on the grounds that man city buy evertons car (at a reduced price) and rent it back to us over a 25 year period (with high interest).

just as it seemed a 2 horse race liverpool's Rafael benitez has now thrown his hat into the ring by anouncing "ce senior ia lika de lescott " and has also entered the race.

"Everton FC have accepted an undisclosed fee for Joleon Lescott from Manchester City.

As Part of the deal Micah Richards will join everton on a season long loan deal with a view to a perminant transfer."


I think it will be undisclosed, because we have said that we wont accept less than £30M and City have said that they wont pay that.

So if the fee is undisclosed neither team loses face.
