Everton 2-1 Southampton

Sunday 23rd February 2003
Goodison Park

Goals: Beattie 33; Radzinski 83, 90

I was at this game and although we didn't play well in the first half, we battered Southampton in the second half and if it wasn't for the efforts of Saints keeper Niemi, we could have had six! As it was everyone was thinking it just wasn't going to be our day despite us piling the pressure on, that was until substitute Wayne Rooney crossed from the left and Radzinski buried a header to send Goodison into raptures!! Then in injury time, Saints made the mistake of using a corner kick to waste time and play for the draw only for them to lose possession and Radzinski raced away and hit a screamer past Neimi at the near post! Goodison was on fire and I'll never forget it!

'That' game against Blackburn in 04-05 I think. The one where Turner got sent off. Can't say I have ever felt Goodison so angry and so specifically at just two individuals. At ten men Arteta floats a cross in and Beattie gets the header. Didn't dampen the anger one bit.

This would take some beating for me . I nearly had a heart attack when this went in . I had the most perfect view of this imaginable . The 60 year old bloke that sat behind me last season was hanging off my next screaming " You horrible bastards " repeatedly with a manic grin on his face . Strange I know but I knew exactly what he meant at that specific moment . Pure Everton Magic (y)
