The official World Cup song is definitely striking a chord — the wrong one with many in host country Brazil.

Since the recent release of Fifa’s ‘We Are One (Ole Ola)’, hordes of fans have been slamming the official theme.

Although Brazilian Claudia Leitte is also featured in the official theme, critics say they don’t understand why Cuban-American rapper Pitbull and Bronx-born Puerto Rican singer Jennifer Lopez were chosen for the song.

They also complain that the song is mostly in English and Spanish, leaving only a few seconds at the end for Leitte to sing in her native Portuguese.

Pitbull? I mean, fcuking Pitbull. And J-Lo.

Absolutely gash. I was looking forward to this years songs after having "Waka Waka" and "Wavin' flag" in 2010, but oh no they have to let that weapon Pitbull ruin it, with another jarg song.

Do people really get 'upset' about World Cup songs?

As boss as the World Cup is, people need to realise it is just all corporate marketing. Identikit stadiums and blanket bore-off advertising for tedious products.

That song is awful though.
