Thought their version of The Office was decent, even if they didn't quite grasp how to put across the humour. It was different more LOL basic humour anyway. Didn't see their version of Shameless but I'm sure it was exactly that. Only Fools will be terrible.

I actually like the American "Office" better than the UK original. Plus I dislike Gervais, really.

Coz you don't 'get it' mate. I think you have to be British to understand the UK Office. Its much more subtle. The American version is a more dumbed down but almost equally enjoyable humour. Not saying your dumb ffs! But you know what I mean.

While American humour is great, it'll never match the British sense of humour. Ever.

Was considering this earlier, and TV comedy is a different animal to standup.

Blackadder was funny, it was 'i know my place stuff'.

'Sopranos' was funny in a myriad of ways. Comedy vs drama-sitcom.

People who like The American Office better than the real one also love shows like 'How I met your mother' and general footballs to the groin.

Nah, what I mean is - the UK Office is good, funny and stuff, but I just liked the US version more, even if it's dumbed down or whatever. Personal preferences and all that.

And because I saw "How I met your mother" thrown around here - most. Boring. Show. Ever.

"Hey kids, wanna know how I met your mother? Here, let me get you through 8 seasons of pointless side-tracks."

The 'real' interplay between Gervais and Carrell is pretty funny though.

Don't think even us Brits can recreate fool and horses. It was of its time, which was 20 years ago. The sequel, rock and chips, was utter crap IMO.
