One of the better maps I've seen as of recent. I love juxtapositions like this.
It’s great isn’t itOne of the better maps I've seen as of recent. I love juxtapositions like this.
I remember doing a 'European tour' with a dozen friends in 5-6 cars, in about 2006 or so. We had a TomTom then, but it was not reliable at all round the Alps. Luckily I had our AA road map book of Europe! We used that to navigate the rest of the trip! Thankfully being boy scouts, me and my brother could use a map correctly!It’s great isn’t it
There was a man on the radio yesterday talking about the rapid decline in use of traditional maps due to sat nav etc. it seems these info-maps buck the trend
Speaking of gold.. I can't believe how the price of gold and silver etc has rocketed in the last two months. Quite bizarre really. Someone has influenced it!So a month ago there was another robbery at a French museum. High tech stuff, like in the film Heat the robbers had electronically switched the alarms and cameras off on the sly and then gone in and targeted the gold that was on display.

Yeh, itis really satisfying and much more immersive. Any time we go anywhere we get a map and drive down the b roads and the small viallages etc. You'd never get that on a satnav.I remember doing a 'European tour' with a dozen friends in 5-6 cars, in about 2006 or so. Agree! I think you see more too!! You will notice on the map.. 'oh, look out for that bridge or tunnel or mountain!', we need to turn left there.'Yeh, itis really satisfying and much more immersive. Exactly what I doAgree! I think you see more too!! You will notice on the map.. 'oh, look out for that bridge or tunnel or mountain!', we need to turn left there.'
Whereas with sat-nav, you miss most of it because you just follow the line on the screen!
stock market instability, mr I deserve a peace prize has torpedoed us governance, continued problems with energy fluctuations, investors seek the sanctuary of the precious metals market as it has been historically the safest bet.Speaking of gold.. yes, major central banks are buying up unprecedented volumes of gold, especially China, India, Poland as a hedge against economic instability/uncertainty, its fairly obvious they have strong inklings as to what's coming down the lineSpeaking of gold.. Apoligies if reading this has just wasted your time.
It's totally off topic, and its just a question that doesn't fit on any thread..
Why if you can put someone on ignore ( which i haven't )
Can you not see who has you on ignore, so you dont post pointless responses that will never be seen.
@GrandOldTeam
OMG I've just laughed and now respondedI don't accept your apology for wasting my time.
[ @Swartzy @GrandOldTeam has added you to their ignore list ]
Basically. Recession incoming...yes, major central banks are buying up unprecedented volumes of gold, especially China, India, Poland as a hedge against economic instability/uncertainty, its fairly obvious they have strong inklings as to what's coming down the line
As for silver, with its huge range of diverse uses especially industrial and technological in todays world demand is probably outstripping supply
In my estimation precious metals especially the big 4 - Gold, Silver, Palladium and Platinum have always been a safer investment than many stocks
