I'm sorry when you're playing at this level you should not be affraid of getting the ball. You should also be able to pass the ball forward and protect it from a single opposition. Neville does none of that and in midfield you really need to.
he s played 50 odd games for england , affraid of getting the ball

Neville isn't as bad as you are making out. He's limited on the ball, yes but he will always give an option and try and keep it simple.

I think his passing in the last few league game has been a lot better, he is trying to pick passes on the floor and he doesnt look bad.

Maybe just maybe my biggest problem with him is that he is keeping younger players, who IMO offer so much more, out of the team - Barkley and Gueye today.

How would Gueye offer 'much more' then Neville?

A) he's not a defensive/central midfielder.
B) he's not that good. One dimensional and shown up in the semi final.

No offence to him like. Neither would Barkley offer much more in Neville's role.

- Ossie once again bottled it against good opposition

h tony hibbert is a fuken joke ,how many times did he allow nani to get his crosses in ,phil neville was ok today never stopped, was at them all the while never allowed the heads to drop ,give me neville over hibbert everyday of the week .

Nope, he's a good defender.

No I'm not saying that they should play DM, however with no Neville in midfield, Fellaini would slot right back in with Gibson, continueing to build on their midfield partnership. This would give us three obvious options:

- Pienaar moved into AMC with Gueye on the left
- Ossie moved into AMC with Barkley on the right
- Barkley put in the AMC position

All options that I would prefer to Neville being in midfield.

Just like every other player bar Jelavic in that game.
