Not missing a match for years

I think you can let Everton run your life a little bit too much personally, you see it a hell of a lot on here.

That being said giving up my season ticket for work is one of the stupidest decisions I ever made although the job being utter crap doesn’t help that matter either.

had a season ticket since I was a kid and carried it going when I started paying for it myself etc, but rarely go the away games like I used to ( think I have been about 4 league away games in about 7 years ) before that was about 10 a season

money is obviously an issue for the away games but for me its socially as well, most my mates are reds so if I go the away games every other weekend I wouldn't see much of them so would prefer going the pub with my mates over going an away game and spending probably more money anyway

in school though it was deffo about pride as you say " ye but you don't go the game"

Had a ST since 1961 and my last game was end of last season v Man U
I am getting on a bit and with all the fixture changes and more and more night games I have decided to call it a day,it's going to be hard but I knew that this time would come around eventually I will be an armchair fan from now on, but I hope to get to the odd game hoping you all have something to cheer about, in the near future.
Good luck mate, you’ve been a loyal supporter over the years, you’ve earned your rest

....as an older bloke, I look back and see match attendance varied through my life. It might be similar for others.

As a child I had a season ticket in Upper Gwladys St for many years, playing school footy on Saturday morning’s and going to Goodison in the afternoons. As I got older and started playing a bit more seriously, it was a dash to the match if my game was off.

In the 80s I did the home and away routine for a few seasons and introduced my kids to Goodison. I slackened off a bit and got out the habit, but invested in a season ticket for my son. I have access to season tickets but rarely go now, taking in a handful of games each season.

It’s terrific that fans love going week in, week out, but every Evertonian is still qualified to have a view regardless of attendance.

Everyone's different and everyone attitude towards ppl not missing a game can also vary.

I enjoy time away from my private life its a release and properly like that for many

Did many full seasons home and away when I was younger, had to cut it back a bit when the kids came along but I still go the well over half the aways each year and I'm nearly 40, it's deffo more of a social thing these days though, im lucky to know a fine crew of about 10 blues who don't miss a game so I go with them either on the train or minibus usually.

its definitely a badge of honor for some and theres a lot of egos who look down on other blues!
i know plenty that would travel down to london and leave 20 mins before the end just to get a early train back up!
i also know someone who went to kenya and missed the first 20 mins because they couldnt be arsed leaving the bar,
look in the concourse any away game, the same faces more interested in drinking.
im not saying its right or wrong just saying how it is!
i went to bate borisov in minsk myself and missed the first 15 mins because i was pissed!
as for the arsenal fan spending 70 grand,my auld fella spent more than that on ciggies!

I only do home games now...but never do boxing day as its the only time the whole fam get together. depending on the atmosphere i sometimes wish i was at Goodison.

I am fortunate enough to have been born and raised in the shadow of Goodson and in a real sense Everton F.C. is my home.
I was regularly attending matches in the sixties and since the mid seventies I have missed 6 home games.
This is despite working up and down the country and at times across Europe.
I have always worked hard to provide food and shelter for my family but the few hours I spend supporting Everton is my time, my passion. All are welcome to join me and all of my kids now do.
Going the match is the time when I also meet family and see friends I have known for decades.
I still find time to spend on other interests and friends , going to gigs is still something I enjoy and I am politically active.
I don’t get to as many away games as I once did but still try to get to as many as I can.
Everton is the abiding passion of my life, the one constant, as it was for most of my family before me.
I have missed out on many opportunities in life because of my support for Everton, but I have no regrets.(apart from missing those six home games of course).

Ive had two short spells in hospital and had to miss 2 games each time, which sucked.
But apart from that haven't missed a home game since 2001, in fact the last one I think was the game Dianio caught the ball when the goal keeper was down Haha
Not been able to do as many seats though, 5 or 6 a season
