I panda to nobody
The sad passing of Doddy has got me thinking how many high profile people are left from when I was born (1961). I'm on about people who are still as high profile now. Can't think of too many.
First thoughts are:
Her Maj
Phil the Greek (semi retired but just sneaks in)
David Attenborough

Surely there must be more, please enlighten me.

Day of mourning when Dai Battenburg passes away.

Had to google Ronnie Corbett as couldn’t remember if he was still going.

Michael Crawford is still with us

Vera Lynn yes of course. Prince Charles was just a child in 61 but I suppose high profile. I'm thinking Shirley Bassey probably hit fame in the early, mid sixties in the beatles, tarby era so she didn't make it.

Chuck would have been a teenager, about 13 or 14, I would think.

I know he is a few years older than me and I was born in 1952.

No, Shirley was before the Beatles, I think.

Yes, I just checked.

She was playing Vegas in ‘57 and she was named “Female singer of the year” by the NME IN 1959 :)

Just off the top of my head to add to the names already there: Sean Connery, Tony Bennett, Angela Lansbury, Betty White, Doris Day, Richard Van Dyke, Olivia De Havilland, Hayley Mills, Brigitte Bardot, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mel Brooks, Sophia Loren.

When i say just off the top of my head I obviously meant after I had googled the subject of course.
