Dutch Toffee

Player Valuation: £70m
We haven't been linked with this guy, but in our quest for some much needed firing power, what about having a look at him? Apparently he wants out at Ajax, after only joining them this season. I know he has the reputation of being a bit of a troublemaker, but he certainly knows where that goal is.

A loan with option to buy, would represent a good deal to me. Don't think he would be overly expensive, as Ajax signed him for only €5m last summer. Think he would represent a lot better option than Yakubu or Saha at the moment.

Fairly good shout, but I have a distrust of strikers from Holland. Goalscoring records always seem to suggest they're better than they are.

Couldn't do us any harm though.

I know what you're saying but I think there's an element of risk anywhere. Especially within our possibilities

Aye.

To be honest I'm wary of this guy in particular as I actually brought him in on loan for a year in January 2011 on my FM save ^^

And every player I bring in on a management/football game to Everton who signs with us ends up [Poor language removed] in reality. Sort of a jinx. Bakayoko was the first :P

Seriously though, you're right, can't be any worse than Saha. Personally, I'd prefer a half-decent striker who is well adapted to the EPL, and Roque Santa Cruz would be perfect. I wouldn't complain with El Hamdaoui... hell, I wouldn't complain with anyone at the moment, as long as a different option is brought in!

Had enough of NL players, what with VDM and now Heittinga seems unhappy per rumour.

Heitinga has done a good job for us though. The guy was fantastic last year and has had quite a bit of unmerited crap off the fans when he's slotted in this year and done a professional job.

Yeah i've always been intrigued by this player, FIFA always seems to rate him! (y) He's been around a bit and got a very good goals/game ratio and still only 26. Although as Tubey says theres been a few Dutch strikers come to the premier league having knocked them in for fun in Holland only to struggle to score in the Prem. Kuyt for example was prolific! I personally think he'd be worth a punt, but then i'd be happy if we signed anyone up front this Jan.

Did not criticise his performances pointed out per rumour he may be unhappy, remember those links or talk of the Bundesliga.

Welcome to GOT :D

I wouldn't moan if we took a punt on Luis Suarez, for example, but in general the Dutch league in the last record has been... erm... "inconsistent". I doubt Moyes will take a punt without the player being well scouted as that is his way, and you can't argue with the results he's had in the past.

I honestly just hope Moyes is looking for a striker, and not a midfielder so that Cahill can play up front permanently..

Fair enough :D

Agree with all you've written on El Hamdaoui uptill now, and that's just why I want it to be a loan with option to buy. As I said before, he has the reputation of being a bit of a [Poor language removed], but his goalscoring record speaks for itself.

Also can understand everyone being a bit wary about bringing in Dutch players at Everton, as we don't exactly have a good record with them, given our experiences with VDM and Heitinga. As for Kuijt, personally I always rated him. he might not be as prolific as he promised to be in the Dutch league, but you've got certainty in that he always will always give total commitment, desire and loyalty to his employer. Even at the RS, it's impossible for me to really hate him.

Also, for every failure brought in from the Dutch league, there are enough Dutch player who proved to be a hit with their respective clubs.

As for Suarez, we can safely forget about him. No way, we can afford him. Was linked with Arsenal this weekend, the price quoted was €23m.

I agree with you mate, his attitude and work ethic is incredible and think he sets a good example that I wish more foreign (and english) players would follow, I have to admit I don't mind him atall (aside from his derby goals!) purely from what i've just said. I was just referring to his goals, as his ratio for the RS is not what he had for Feyernoord. Wasn't he first used as a striker for the RS before being shifted to the wing? But yeah, good player.

Regarding El Hamdaoui, a loan to buy would be good, it's low risk and if he really is a [Poor language removed] then we can just send him back like we did with Jo (Is HE available?)

Now excuse me while i make myself puke for saying all that nice stuff about an RS player :P
