Northampton nightclub death

I'm not a fan of clubs for a number of reasons, but overcrowding is one of them. That's sad to read

I worked in a couple of Clubs when I was younger and I remember they were always strict on numbers in fairness to them. I'm sure at times they bent the rules on the big nights of the year, but the Police were always there checking

Lava/Igninte is a ****ing toilet.

Poor woman.

Have been in Lakota in Bristol a few times when there's been a ridiculous number of people there and there have been crushes around the doors between rooms. Never thought I was gonna die though.

To be honest, when I saw the thread title I immediately thought "bouncers". Wouldn't be the first time someone's been killed by bouncers in a Northampton nightclub.

Is Northampton bad for bouncers? I've only ever been in Embargo's and the bouncers were sound. Let us out to go the cash machine and didn't give a **** that my mate was in no fit state to re enter the club.

I've had a pretty bad time with them to be honest, and I'm far from a troublemaker. Been chucked down stairs a couple of times for **** all, once 'cos they thought I was someone else.

One of my mates is deaf in one ear because he went to stagger into the wrong toilets in one place cos he was pretty out of it and instead of chucking him out or pointing him the right way the bouncer just lamped him round the side of the head full power. From behind.

Another one had his Bimmer parked up on double yellows outside whatever Square 11 is called these days, someone started on one of my mates and he chucked them both out, straight into the side of his car, snapping the wing mirror off in the process. Completely his own fault but he stalked my mate for about a year and threatened his family trying to make him pay for it. He only left him alone when he got put inside.

Another lad died after getting knocked out and kicked down the stairs by them in whatever The Lounge is called these days a few years back.

I've not really been out in Northampton much for a few years, mind. I don't live there anymore and only really go up when my mates have got their soundsystem out, so it might be different these days.

Yeah it's all down to personal experience isn't it. I mean a lot of people say Luton is bad for trouble but I can honestly say I've never been in any trouble *touch wood* Although I've defo seen some full on nastyness. And the alternative is Bedford where I usually go now and people say that's safer but I'd beg to differ.

And as for the lad that got killed by the bouncer throwing him down the stairs, I hope they lock the ****er up. Bouncer's on the whole are utter ****s. Big bullies who are only in the job to kick **** outta people and get away with it. And they are usually ****e at their jobs. Genuine trouble and they arn't within 100 metres of it. But some are sound and friendly and do their job properly and use proper restraining techniques. I don't fight, god didn't give me the will or the upper body strength, and even if I had both I wouldn't because what the hell is the point on going on a night out and ruining it for everyone by fighting? Especially when these days it's not gonna be all about fists. Evil pricks are gonna glass you or whatever ****house tactic they use.

Bumper is great I wouldn't say it gets over crowded tbh

Was freshers week when I went. Believe me that's one of the few times, even in my inebriated state, I thought '**** someones gonna get hurt here'.

I'd like to think I'm past the clubbing scene. I'm the wrong side of 30 now so it would seem a bit weird in a club with a load of teenagers. I've been in a few clubs around the country in my day where I've been pressed badly against doors and the like by sheer numbers.

Same as gypsies mate, good and bad in all walks. It's not a job I'd fancy doing much working on the door, not that I'd be any good at either like, but quite a few of my mates ended up doing it and there's plenty of dickheads wanting to provoke them.

Such a sad story. My girlfriend shares a house with a girl in uni, and the girl who died is a very good friend of her best mate, so she's quite cut up about it too. It was quite strange to hear about it and then have my girlfriend tell me that.

It angers me that night clubs get away with cramming far too many people in. There's a student night in Nation (Cream) Liverpool, called Medication and that is always stupidly overcrowded, It's an absolute sweat box and it took me nearly an hour to get a drink once, loads of lads trying to push in with their jaws swinging everywhere. Fights galore.

The bouncers are tits too. My mate got battered by 4 or 5 of the bouncers, when he reacted to his then girlfriend getting chinned by one of them. I mean, who the f*** punches a girl ffs? Big hard men they are!

I try to stay clear of night clubs now, I don't really enjoy them anyway and they are often full of tossers.

Did doors of plenty of pubs and clubs in the days when it was unregulated, and yes, i,ve worked with plenty of dickheads, usually the young steriod type,s who think their bullet proof.. But i hasten to add as Nik said there are a lot of decent lads who do a professional job protecting people from serious injury in night club fights by risking their own safety, and i know first hand how dangerous this job is!

With twelve years experience i,ve been involved in some vicious brawls, and i have the scars to prove it. But hand on heart, i have never thrown a dig in anger in my life, now after a three year absence i,m back in the thick of it again in a new club in the city centre.. And i,m not afraid to admit it lads,, i say a prayer to come home to my family safe..

God bless that poor girl and her family.
