No excuses for West Ham

In reading the summary of the West Ham game I'm wondering if Hughes is going to make it to next week. Clint Dempsey looked like he wanted to deck his own skipper when he got yanked off. And that particular moment was booed by the fans.

Right about now I'm expecting MLS to start rolling out the coaching welcome wagon.

It would be great news for us when we see Fulham in March. Hopefully they'll take up a relegation spot (and I hope Clint moves in Jan - can we pick him up? I think he's better than Saha/Yakubu/Beckford - he's sure scored more).

There's actually plenty of "excuses" if we don't win.

The most obvious and simple is that 11 VS 11 means any team can win on any given day.

We've had 2 extra days off so we will always everytime 100% guaranteed win? Of course not.

As long as we try our best and maximise our potential to give us the best chance of wining thats all we can do.

Of course if we don't do that and lose its a different story.

no mate there is no excuses for not beating west ham.

They are awful, the worst team in the league. Their defence is shocking.
We are Everton and we have a choice of strikers (who are all better than their journeymen) to choose from, not to mention a certain TC.

Its all about the tactics, man for man we beat them 11-0.
Moyes has to tell the players to go for them from the off, high pressure up the field will see them implode.

Absolutly no excuses for not winning.
Then again, their where no excues for alot of other games this season but you found a reason to defend poor old Moyes.
Bless him.

So West Ham might as well not bother turning up and just give is 3 points?

But if they do turn up and we have 27 shots cleared off the line, 4 clear cut penalties not given and 3 players wrongly sent off as Upson goes on a Messi like run from his own penalty area to launch a 40 yarder bullet into the top corner there's no excuses?

Its a ridiculous thing to say really. This is football, you win some you should lose and lose some you should win.

All we have the right to ask for is that we give it our best shot. If that doesn't happen yeah their will be grounds for complaint and excuses won't really cut it.

But if we give it our best shot what more can we do?

your missing the point.

if we give it our best shot we will win.

player vs player, we are superior all over the park

it comes down to tactics, and it doesnt take a genius to know the last thing we want to do is sit back and let them build confidence and take it easy.

moyes has to tell them to go at west ham as if they are carrying the last golden ticket to willy wonkas factory.

no excuses if we dont win.

You do realise we've won just 1 game more than them so far this season and they are at home?

I'm not missing the point that we should be a better team and if we play as well as we can we should beat them.

But to say we will and there are no excuses if we don't is just stupid, footballs not that simple.

Its more than possible we play very well but get unlucky, they play crap and get a lucky deflection.

All we can do is wait till the game and see what happens. But as you say a lot of it comes down to tactics, if we use the wrong ones and lose questions should be asked.
