Mikel Arteta and Victor Anichebe will miss Everton's game at Aston Villa on Wednesday.
The Spaniard has been missing since the Blues' 2-0 win over Manchester City last month, while Anichebe was stretchered off against Bolton earlier in March.
The news means David Moyes is expected to draw from the same squad that drew 2-2 with West Ham last time out.
More follows.
Odd. I mean, Arteta was rested against Wolves on the 27th March as a 'precautionary measure'. Then no sign of his return on the 4th April against West Ham.

Now, on the 14th April, he's stilled deemed not fit?

Ahead of the West Ham game, Radio City 96.7 spoke of rumours that Arteta won't play again this season, it looks as though they could be right. It looks for all the world that he has picked up a bad'un and the club are keeping schtum.

Either way, I wouldn't risk him again this season. Moyes should give him an early pre-season, no point risking him now.

Am just glad to see him play again this season and so happy for the memory he gave me for that second goal against City.

Not too bothered if he doesn't play again this season. Get him, MoFro, Yak in fact the whole squad gettin a boss pre-season and get us firing next year

I would offer an opinion on when he's back, but as there's been absolutely no info out and didn't see him at the end of the man city game ... can't.

There's obviously something going on with a specialist or something as theres been no announcement why he's unavailable, which suggests they aren't sure themselves methinks.

groin injury i heard originally. if its not herniated shouldn't be any more than 3 weeks... but he's had groin problems before (2008/2009 season) he's got a history of this problem unfortunately.

But that doesn't match the rumour of him being on crutches............... why would he be on them for a groin injury?

better stop before me head goes pop.

I read elsewhere that a lad was on the same flight as him back from Barcelona, spoke to him, got a photo, etc. Asked him when he'd be back, he said Villa would probably be too soon, but he should be OK for Blackburn. And that was (supposedly) from the horse's mouth, so take from that what you will.

Can believe that as that fits in with 3 weeks out with groin strain.

Like I say the rumours of him on crutches? for a groin problem? don't make sense anyway.

Ah well ........ Anichibe would have made a big difference ....Arteta who???

*Joking* Rest up Mikel....ready for pre-season mate....next year blow the league apart* COYB

Just soeculation and all but some are saying hes out for the season.

I wonder if we lost tomorow would Moyes thinkof just gettting him fit for next season.
