Chico makes some very key points. The fisrt 3 times Moyes had success (7th, 4th, 6th) our football wasn't exactly flowing. But this season, at times, we do look almost like the twinkle in Kendall's 1983 eye. I actually don't mind the fact that signings like Kroldrup and BT haven't worked out. Yak - we'll see, but even if he is gash it doesn't matter, because on the theory that you cannot win the lottery without buying a ticket, look at the risks Moyes took on Cahill and Arteta (yes, when we first signed him on loan there were serious misgivings about him).

I do scratch my head when I see a central midfield of Neville and Jags, though.

Thats a good way of putting it, if we were half as good as that side then I would be happy. I've put them on a pedestal as may have noticed.

I think that midfield was out of necessity, Cahill and Gravesen out. Im sure theres money earmarked for centre mid in January or beyond. Well I hope.

Neville and Carsley worked wonders against Spurs in fairness so expect to see that combo or Jagielka from time to time. You have to say we look far more comfortable with 4-5-1 though.

we deny sides space and time with 5 in the middle, cahill and cars cover masses of ground, a good habit that has worn off on arteta and starting to show in pienaar as well. its high pressure football and we have a couple of passers now that can turn quick possession into a move up the other end because we have some pace to capitalise.

mick - chico did mention dogs.
as for the text underneath the emboldened quote, that was a retort to mr azul - analysing his attitude and then implementing how i would like the two cup competitions we are currently involved in to go.

To answer - he needs to play well the whole season for us - he's new, and has to prove his worth, as a new player - the jury is still out on him. One or two good games aren't enough.

I have no doubt that if he works hard he'll become a favourite.

Well I dont know if you understood what I meant. Midfield isnt a position he has played in much in the past so he is learning his trade in midfield. At right back he was man of the match on Sunday- his preffered position apparently.

I think he will develop into a good central midfielder, just needs time.

If I predict that were getting battered and we do then its better for some reason. It might be Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or something.

Just being brutally honest. Dr Suits has diagnosed me, and that aint a bad thing.

Look dude- you've got issues of that there is no question. But saying suits diagnosing you is no bad thing is just crazy talk. You are crazy.
Bham!

I pictured Suits to be the main character out of V for Vendetta when I watched it.

Agreed, I have got issues.

But the point is, isnt it boss being a blue at the moment? This Euro thing, sound goals and ace soccerskills.

that second against larissa was very much the bees knees.

with a full squad moyes has himself a lot of options, and with cahill back with cars the tenacity and resolve of the midfield looks as good as it has in some months. just got to get gravs up to speed and then a plethora of goals are ours to savour.

I thought it was a very good post.

I started supporting Everton during the Walter Smith era so everything we've done since then has been an improvement.

I think Moyes was the best appointment Kenwright ever made.

I think Cahill, Arteta, Lescott, & Baines are all looking like steals.

I think for the most part, Moyes has gotten it right in the transfer market and on our budget.

And I think that Moyes can still improve upon the base he's built over the past 5 years.

THAT excites me.

It is good to be a Blue. (y)

Injuries aren't excuses, but we all knew that Sep-Oct would be the most difficult part of the season for us with key players hurt and the new signings all settling into their roles.

Timmy and Tommy are back, Vaughn and AJ soon (and we'll hopefully have AJ at full speed again), Vic and Yak are both finding a little stability...

The list of positives goes on and on. I fully expect us to have the best record in the league from Jan on.

More evidence we're on the right track? We have multiple discussion threads on which of our 5 quality strikers we should shop around for cash! (for the record, i would keep all of them because it must drive opposing coaches nuts to guess which style of striker we'll have out there on any given night)
